My buddy Chris Saley and I were interviewed by the beautiful Sonia Baghdady at WTNH Channel 8, our fabuloso local ABC television affiliate...we talked about the "GIT Your Gown On!" Bridal Event that we're having on Sunday, February 22nd at Chris' super hot and tasty Bridge House Restaurant. Look out Charlie Gibson - Chris Saley is in town!
Okay, so what do wedding gowns and Get In Touch and Chris Saley all have to do with one another?
Well, Chris is not only the owner of the Bridge House Restaurant, he's our landlord at the GIT office, which, believe it or not, was formerly a bridal shop. The shop owner abandoned the business along with 80+ brand new bridal gowns. Chris donated the gowns to Get In Touch, confident we would be creative in our fundraising efforts!
The gift of the gowns comes with a story that is sure to touch your heart. You see, Chris' wife Lisa lost her battle to breast cancer in the late spring of 2004, which is when I was just beginning my treatment. Our mission resonates deeply with this father of three young daughters. He sees himself as a lifelong member of a "society" that he continues to support any way he can.
The proceeds from our bridal event will help fund our Get In Touch Girls' Program & Daisy Wheel, which will benefit all of our daughters...not just the ones that call us Mom...or Dad.
And the Emmy goes to...Chris Saley - for "Best Guy in Real Life!"
