Woo-hoo!! We're up and running!
Today is a wonderful day here at The Get In Touch Foundation! If you're reading this, you can see for yourself that our brand-spankin' - new-Forum is up and running thanks to our "superbombdiggidy" web gal, Zinelle! We've been forum frenzied into the wee hours of the morning on many, many nights in these last few weeks, and we think the results are fabuloso!
We started the original forum a year ago, and while it served the most basic of purposes, there was this feeling I just couldn't shake that something was missing. Well, for any of you that know how I chose to blast through my chemotherapy, bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruction, and document every step of the way with photojournalist Christopher Capozziello, you'll know how important seeing a face is to me and moi. Nothing ever seemed, or seems, real to me unless I see a face...or look into the eyes of a survivor sister. It is, after all, the most basic way that we first connect - looking into the face and the eyes of a real person...and seeing ourselves.
Well, girlfriends, (and boyfriends!) we can see you and you can see us! You can put your favorite photo in and change it whenever you feel particularly "change-worthy!" Shaved your head? Put it up! Hair grew back? Put it up! Decided to follow the lead of my "Picasso-esque" children and had your own head painted? Put it up!
We're all about relationships, folks - you are very welcome here, in this place of hope & healing - and we will chat with you, pray for you and hope because of you.
Soooo.....check us out and all we have to offer....from YouTube to Facebook to Twitter! - and then spread the word. Interestingly enough, I posted our video on YouTube less than twelve hours ago and already there have been 30 views. And I posted that video at 1am. I sure do remember being there...1am, can't sleep, surfing the net...egads. We are there to hold these gals up and remind them that they have never been more alive than they are at this moment...and we walk this journey with them. Rock on, Surivor Sisters, kick some big time breast cancer a**!
